Vintage Travel Journal

Morning Friends,

Today I'm happy to bring you a vintage travel journal covered in distressed subway art designer travel papers from Teressa Collins.

This journal measures 7.5" wide x 10" tall and is 100 pages long which makes it easy to stow away and very portable for documenting your travel notes or daily thoughts.  It is standard ruled which is easy to use for those of us with large script handwriting instead of the thin college ruled paper. 

This vintage travel journal has been embellished with black printed flowers with center gems by Prima, cream colored Petaloo and red colored Spare Parts mulberry flowers; a Prima vintage typewriter chipboard; a large black embossed metal flower with rhinestone center.   Swirl chipboard pieces finish off the outer corners and a slim black satin ribbon is used for a tie closure.

"Life is Better at the Beach" Photo Journal

Hi Friends,

Nothing says Southern California like the beach!   So this morning I'm delighted to bring you one of my favorite subject matters.   It's always been a dream of mine to live next to the beach but the closest I've been able to come to it is a vacation in my wonderful RV.

I love the sunshine, the smell of the ocean and the wonder of standing next to something that reminds me just how quickly life passes us by.   I'm always reminded of the important things in life when I'm away at the beach.  A smile, a laugh, playfulness, children and all the things I hold dear like my family and friends. 

I created this journal for my friend Heather in a  secret sister swap from a colorful paper collection made by Bo-Bunny called "Key-Lime." The colors scream summer fun!  I've left plenty of room for pictures, memorabilia, journaling and found some funky paper clips to help secure a few extra surprises along the way.  So, lets give it a look:

Great Aunt Nora Circa 1800's

 

Good Morning Friends,

Today I'm posting a lovely layout of my great aunt Nora with a beautiful picture of her from the early 1800's. My Aunt Nora was married to William Fairchild in the early 1800's.  Her maiden name was Spencer.  

To create this simple vintage layout I started with a blue back ground piece, then layered a punched printed page on top.   I added a few more layers with a doily made from the Cricut using the Paper Lace cartridge and added a simple white Wilton doily.  I matted and framed a few wonderful vintage images from A Ladies Diary paper collection from Graphic 45.   I handmade the pink flower with pearl center, die cut the leaves, and added a few rolled roses to finish the flower cluster.  I added a corner chipboard for a little extra depth and interest.  Then as a final touch, I added the birdcage and a few birds in flight.

A Ladies Diary Photo Album

Good morning friends,

Today I'm delighted to bring you this little photo album that I created for a dozen of my daughters fun bridal shower pictures.  At 12 pages long this was a large mini  to come up with.  So, I decided to layout each page first so I could change my mind a million times before I settled on a page.  One thing I wanted to achive with this album was making it sweet and simple.  I think limiting the pages to a photo frame, a set of Wild Orchad flowers and a coordinating chippie achieved that look.   I also wanted to make sure that each page was different, so the advance planning was key to making that happen.  Note that the chippie on each page is glued down in such a way that half of the chippie can be used to 'tuck' photo's into so they can be mounted without corners.  So I hope you enjoy this little creation:
