Graphic 45 Retro Hawiian Jewel Box

This beautiful retro jewel box was created with Graphic 45's Travel Lodge papers and embilished with Prima magnolia blooms, butterfly, charms, rhinestones and shells.
I used both the red vine of magnolias and the individual cream colored magnolias to embelish the Island Jewel's hair and corner of box.  Also added two shells, the butterly and rhinestones to top.
Added this beautiful key and heart trinket tied around the shell so it hangs down over the edge of the box.
I painted the brass hardware a "hammered bronze" to better match the beautiful ornate Tim Holts Legs.
Added the "Say it in Rhinestones" swirl and yellow lotus flower.
Cut the Graphic 45 papers so that Tropical Beach can be read across the top
Cut the top, bottom, sides out and covered the bottom side with a art deco punch from Martha Stewart. Notice the aqua rhinestones on the sides. Also installed the Tim Holts ornate legs.
Painted the inside and lined it with this beautiful cream with dot bling fabric in both the top and bottom as a finishing touch.  If you like this box it is available for sale at my Etsy shop.  See the link on right side at top of page.

If you want to know how to make one of these lovely boxes you can follow my step-by-step instructions.  You can find them under "Popular Posts" on the right side of this blog.  Thank you so much for looking and your comments are always appreciated dear friends! :)

Bed & Breakfast Inn

This is a picture of Richard and I many years ago on a Valentine weekend get away to our favorite Bed and Breakfast Inn.  I used my "Funtuloias" February Kit and just loved all the beautiful papers and embellies in this kit.
Notice the rhinestone buttons in the rose lace.
Added a lace collier to the angel bust.
These little letters give me fits every time I work with them.  I finely got me a pair of tweezers to handle these little things so I can finely give up fat fingering them!!! lol  Thanks so much for dropping by my Blog.  Wishing you a fantastic day!

Little Darlings

When I saw Graphic 45's new papers, Little Darlings, I knew I had to have some for my sisters Grand Baby Book of Lain.
These beautiful soft pink Prima flowers are from Scraputante.  The crocheted doily is also from Prima and is available at Scrapbook.com.

When working with wired flowers don't be afraid to shape them, including the wire stems.  wrap the wires around each other then twist around a pencil for large flowers or a small paint brush for small flowers.  This will give your flowers a nice finished curlicue.

How to Make Ribbon Rose Buds

Leaving yourself about 2" of extra ribbon for tails, tie your ribbon in a knot:
The knot acts as the rose bud center so don't pull it too tightly closed.
Next twist your ribbon and curl it around the center knot.

Your ribbon will sort of fold around the center knot and looks like this when you are finished wrapping for a small bud:

Once it is the size you want it, take the ribbon and lap it over on the backside of your rose bud so it can be secured down with a glue dot:

Put your glue dot on the tail and secure it to the bottom side of your rose bud and trim tails for a finished look:
And VOILA!  You've got yourself one fantastic ribbon rose bud:
