Celebrate Butterfly Card

Hi Friends,  Today I'm sharing a birthday card I made for dear sweet friend  Jo (aka Pinkalicious).  I adore butterflies and never tire of adding them to my projects. This one is by Sizzix adds so much dimension and its delicate swirls are so pretty.  Here's a closer peek:

Hello Friend Birthday Card

Hi Friends, Using Graphic 45's Botanical Tea paper collection, here's a sweet nature inspired birthday card I created for my friend Heather.  This collection is an older line, but the images and color palette are so classic, they will remain a favorite of mine for a long time.  Thanks for dropping by and having a peek.  Hugs ~ Dawna

Butterfly Birthday Card

Hi Friends, Today I'm sharing a butterfly card I made for my friend Shana (aka Dryla) for her birthday.  I can't take credit for its design, as it was designed by Laree, the new owner of  "The Stampin Post " for our regular card class.  I enjoyed making this pretty card and it really brightened Shana's special day!

I love the sanded down embossed doily in the background and die cut tulle butterflies on top of the layered paper butterflies.  We also learned how to burnish mica flakes to make the sparkling gold strip and little butterfly. 

The card flips up and the inside features a pocket for a sweet note card.

So much has happened these past few months, that I'm way behind on my blog posts.  So its quiet this evening and I'd like to catch up on a few projects.  There were two birthdays in our swap this month.

First let me start with my very sweet and very talented friend Martica.  She adores tags and the shabby chic style.  I'm new to shabby chic but Martica is a real inspiration to me,  so I really wanted to do something special for her.  This is only my second attempt at something shabby, so I incorporated a few more shabby elements in this creation.  I hope you enjoy Martica's gift:

Next up is my dear sweet friend Jolean (aka Pinky).  She has been a sweet angel to me this year too.  Always checking in on me not matter whats going on in her life.  I'm lucky to have her as a friend.  She's form Italian decent and owns her won family pizza business.  She loves pinks and whites and the shabby chic style too.  Are you starting to understand why I need to learn this style!  lol!

I was in such a rush to get Jolean's  card out on time it slipped away without a picture.  She has promised to send me one as soon as she figures out her new camera!   When she does, I'll happily update my post to add pictures!

A Ladies Diary Purse Mini Album for ilovepapilions

Good morning friends,

Today I'm bring you a creation I made for my secret sister, Ilovepapalions (aka Glenda), for a swap that Martica at sb.com is hosting.  I really enjoyed working with these beautiful Graphic 45 papers.  Each page of this purse has one embellished page and a companion page with a tri-fold photo holder with room for 2 large photos and a journaling spot.  Each tri-fold closes securely with Velcro.  I do hope you enjoy this little treasure:
