To bring you all up to date, I finished up my design team assignment with Scraputante last December and decided to take some time off to catch my breath and renew my creative spirit.
I worked on a few projects in January but just haven't had a chance to photograph and post them yet. I promise to catch up with my posting soon!
In the meantime, I wanted to share this adorable Valentine's Day card I created for my sweet hubby, Richard. After 28 years of marriage, he is still the love of my life! We are SEW perfect together!

Front: I Love You SEW Much
This 5 X 7 card is quadruple matted using red and black 80# cardstock from Bazzill and two designers papers from the Love Note Collection by Fancy Pants. The top layer of red houndstooth has been double machine stitched to emphasize the sewing theme, add interest and texture.
The three hearts were all created using the Close to My Heart 'Artiste' Cricut Cartridge. I then took another cream colored 80# Bazzill cardstock and cut it down to 8 1/2 X 11 so I could run it through the printer. Using Microsoft Word, I prepared my sentiment and printed it up. I then used the black hearts Cricut cutaway as a stencil so I could center it over the cream cardstock sentiment, trace around it, and cut it out. Finely I stitched around the cream heart sentiment and added a Maya Road Red Heart Pin. I layered all three hearts and taped them together so they wouldn't separate, then used pop dots to lift them from the card to create some dimension. As a final touch, I added a red and black mini swirl bling from Prima's, Say it in Crystal's collection.
I embellished the side of the card with a strip of printed measuring tape ribbon. Added a pair of silver Tibetan scissors, and used Prima's black fluid chalk to distress the Dusty Attic Antique Sewing Machine chipboard around its edges. I glued the scissors to the chipboard and then the chipboard to the card using Helmar 450 clear adhesive. As a final touch, I took a Pink Paisley Vintage Thread Spool Top which read's "Everyday" and popped it up with a black pop dot.
Inside: Left Side with Signature Box & Right Side with Printed Sentiment
I trimmed down the red houndstooth paper so the plain black cardstock would just frame it. Using a scrap of cream cardstock, I trimmed it to fit within the red houndstooth, and machine stitched around it creating a special signature pad. I used a standard tape runner and no pop dots to get a smooth flat surface.
