Hi Friends, Today I'm sharing a layout I created using Anna Griffin's Tropical Die Set.  I still need to add "Our Happy Place" to this layout but for now, here's a few close-ups:

Christmas Dinner "Food Fopa" Traditions...

Hi Friends, Okay so today I'm telling sorties on ourselves!  My daughter, Jessica, insisted that I scrap this page to document what she thinks is a "hysterical" family tradition!  We gather every Christmas Eve and always enjoy a nice buffet dinner with all the fix en's.  In the past, I have had a few mishaps in the kitchen, once throwing a huge bowl of mashed potatoes across the dining room onto the floor (breaking it into pieces) after tripping on the doorway threshold.  Then the next year, I  completely forgot to make potatoes all together!  Can you imagine a huge holiday feast with no mashed potatoes? I heard about that one for years too.  Year before last, I made candied yams and failed to serve them! Thus...a new family tradition, "Food Foppa's!"
Now to set the stage for this mishap, my husband and I just finished remodeling our kitchen which included countertops, backsplash, and a fresh coat of paint on all the cupboards and all new appliances.  During the final minutes of getting the buffet ready, I popped the bread in the oven and my husband promptly said he would watch it.  I said, "Okay" and turned and walked away.  Little did I know, he did the same thing!  He completely forgot, almost immediately, that he was supposed to watch the bread.  Within the next few minutes I look over and my grandson had opened the oven door, which is now on fire, with flames shooting up the face of my freshly painted cabinets!  I immediately ran over and slammed the oven door shut explaining to my grandson the importance of smothering a flame to put it out.  Now at this point, where is my darling husband?  He's hiding from me!  lol  After a good old fashioned scolding, all was forgiven and my cabinets wee no worse for the wear.  This is one family tradition, that is, setting the oven on fire, that we dare not repeat!

Happy Birthday Spinner Card

Hi Friends, Today I'm sharing a spinner card I created for the interactive challenge this past weekend at Friends of Anna Griffin FB Group.  For those of you who wish to try your hand at this fin card, Jennifer McGuire on YT has a nice tutorial to follow on inside spinner cards.  I modified mine to be an outside element, but the principle is still the same. .  You can find her tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyrDysniI44  Thanks for dropping by and having a peek! You Are Pawsitively Amazing Card

One of my dear friends is starting to feel the blues a bit, so I created this "Pawsitively Amazing" card for her.  She adores dogs and has two of her own, so I'm hoping this will cheer her!  Thanks for dropping by and having a peek! Hugs ~ Dawna

Pink Castle Happy Birthday Card

Hi friends, Today I'm sharing a sweet Castle Card I created using Anna Griffin's Castle die set.  This is my first attempt and I'm very pleased with how it turned out.  Notice the cute brick pattern on the Castle paper collection.  And the glitter paper on the rooftops adds just the right amount of sparkle!  Thanks for dropping by and having a peek!  Hugs ~ Dawna

36 Beautiful Cards for Soldiers

Hi Friends, I've spent this week creating cards to send off to the troops deployed overseas.  With a few exceptions, I created these 5 layer cards using just two pieces of 5x7 cardstock, a 3D sentiment,  3D flower sticker. and finished it with a bow.

To create these cards, I used Anna Griffin's Concentric dies and Mini Frame dies.  I also used several of her embossing folders to give them some depth and dimension.  To create your four cardstock layers, cut a 5x7 sheet for the base layer, then die cut the middle out of it thus creating the third layer for your card  On your next 5x7 piece of cardstock, cut the second layer to measure 4 3/4 x 6 3/4, then cut the smallest center die for your fourth layer as the top centerpiece.  Dry emboss each piece.  Add your sentiment, a flower and finish with a bow.  Here's what you can create:
